Ayisat Agbaje is a lawyer, writer, entrepreneur, political activist, women’s and children’s advocate and the founder of AA INITIATIVE which is a non-profit organisation that promotes nutrition, social, and emotional focused intervention that have potential for adaptation, social integration with the Nigeria’s
Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) population, the organisation also advocates for prison reform.
Ayisat has extensive experience in working with NGOs including International Citizen Service (ICS) and National Citizen Service (NCS) The Challenge. Ayisat is the writer of viral article ‘Nigeria Laws are Skewed against Women’.
Ayisat holds a master’s degree in international Relations and Democratic Politics and an Undergraduate degree in Law from University of Westminster, she is also in the process of acquiring a professional graduate certificate from Harvard Extension School in International Relations and Governance. Ayisat is a firm believer in advocacy and activism, however, she believes that to properly tackle injustice, close the gap of impunity and bring about greater equality, it is essential to make these changes from inside the institutions, rather than just been an activist on the outside hence her interest in politics. She is motivated by the quote “If you think you are too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito”.
